The Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce is a California non-profit corporation. The organization was founded in 1878 and incorporated in 1899. The Chamber is a business association representing some 2,000 local businesses. Governed by a 20 person volunteer board of directors and managed by a professional staff, the chamber operates a visitor center and a resource center. The Chamber's mission is to foster a vibrant economy and improve the quality of life for all who live and work in the region. Through it’s programs the Chamber generates more than $80 million in annual local business referrals. The chamber visitor center hosts 300,000 annual customers. The chamber website generates 14,000 hits per day. The Santa Barbara Chamber is the oldest and largest business organization in the Tri-County Region. In 2008, the Chamber will sponsor a trade mission to China, a speaker’s conference, an expanded virtual business environment, radio and television programs, a book and author festival and youth mentoring opportunities.

SERVICES  

Member to Member Discount Program - As a benefit to all employees of Chamber Member companies, the discount program allows members to offer discounts and coupons to other members as an incentive to expand clientele and introduce products and services. 

Health Insurance for Chamber Members - In cooperation with the Santa Barbara Region Chamber of Commerce, Blue Shield is pleased to offer a special program to employers who are members of the Chamber.

Trade Shows - Combined with the Business After Hours events for maximum visibility, these annual Trade Shows allow members to feature their products or services to an audience of hundreds.

Membership Directory - The Chamber Directory lists each member's name and business information and is distributed to every member of the Chamber. The directory is published once a year and is updated every six months.

Small Business Counseling - For those entrepreneurs who need business help and guidance, the Chamber provides a free, confidential, one-on-one counseling service with a professional business expert. By taking a personal, hands-on look at diagnosing individual problems, specific answers are provided for specific problems.

Weekly Radio Magazine - Wednesday morning at 11:00 am on KZSB RADIO 1290 AM, Steve Cushman & co-host Rob Egenolf, Commerce Radio where each week different members and Chamber events are showcased.

Visitor Center - Located at 1 Garden St. Open seven days a week, the Visitor Center provides direct service to over 300,000 visitors. Along with distributing over 400,000 pamphlets and maps, the Center also has an interactive kiosk.

Telephone Referrals - The Chamber provides this free service of referring telephone inquiries to specific members and their services.

Certificates of Origin - Available to members only - $40. A Certificate provided by the Chamber verifying that a member's product is manufactured in the United States.

Discount Movie Theatre Tickets - For members only, discount movie tickets, $6.50 each.

Santa Barbara Paradise on the Pacific (hard cover book) - A spectacular hard cover coffee-table book published by the Chamber. With a beautiful text written by award-winning journalist Marcia Meier, and gorgeous photographs of Santa Barbara by renowned photographer James Chen, this treasure is available for sale at the Chamber as well as at bookstores across the country.
